Danielle Wins New Zealand Next Top Model

Danielle Hayes was just named New Zealand's Next Top Model! The girl from Kawerau stood out from the beginning with her unique look and down-to-earth personality.

Here are a few of my favourite Danielle photos from this season's New Zealand Next Top Model.

Look Book: Labour Day

It's Labour Day and I'm just back from a lazy long weekend at my family's bach (more about that soon). The whole weekend has been incredibly sunny and it's been a welcome change to finally be able to wear something other than jeans, woolen tights and warm coats.

Long Weekend

It's a long weekend here in New Zealand and I'm currently packing for a few days away at my family's holiday home. I'm looking forward to sitting on the beach and relaxing with a stack of magazines and books, sleep-ins and some family time.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

IBM Designer Selection Show 2010

A few weeks ago I attended the IBM Designer Selection Show at New Zealand Fashion Week with some young friends.  It was a wonderful night and we had so much fun sitting front row and seeing the latest looks from Kiwi designers, including Twenty Seven Names, Nom D, Huffer, Celine Rita and Zambesi.

Studio Apartment

The latest issue of NZ House And Garden was just laid in my eager hands and I was excited to see a feature on apartment living. As a studio apartment dweller, I find it interesting to see how other people make the most out of their small space. I came across this beautiful studio apartment at Freshome and really like its cosy feel.

Spring Wedding

A few weeks ago Seth and I attended the Spring wedding of two of our close friends, Hadley and Jenna. The service took place in a beautiful old wooden church and the reception at a yacht club overlooking the Auckland harbour.

Carey And Keira's New Haircut

You can imagine how excited I was to discover this photo of two of my favourite actresses, Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley, with the hottest new hair style. A rumpled choppy bob. I've always been a fan of shorter hairstyles and this look has got me thinking about making it my summer look.

I think its a winner, how about you?

Alexa Chung For Elle

Alexa Chung can add another magazine cover to her ever increasing tally- the latest being the November issue of Elle UK. I particularly like the 1960s vibe of the shoot, the messy 'not too perfect hair', which is so typically Alexa, and strong eye.

My favourite looks are the prim long sleeved collared navy top, Carven Black three-quartered sleeve textured dress and the cute felt hat.

Check out the behind the scenes video below...

Braided Leather Belt And OPI Purple Nail Polish

A few weeks ago I was given this brown leather braided belt by my mother-in-law, and I've hardly stopped wearing it since. I've mostly been wearing it paired with a simple tank and my favourite casual cream coloured shirt.

I'm also a little addicted to the OPI Dim Sum Plum nail polish. Two coats of this purple polish and it still has no chips nearly a week later.

Paris Fashion Week Best Dressed List

I've just spent the last few minutes looking through Vogue's latest best dressed list from the Paris Fashion Shows. I especially love Alexa Chung's look and also the long flowing clay coloured Chloe dress.

Fudge For Jimmy D Competition

It's only a few weeks since I sat front row at New Zealand Fashion Week. But the fun isn't all over!

Watch as Fudge artistic director Luana Coscia and her team of 12 Fudge stylists create the slick, textural look for Jimmy D's collection and you could win an amazing Fudge goodie bag.

To win all you have to do is watch the Fudge For Jimmy D video on YouTube and then make a comment on the video's YouTube page before October 31.

The lucky winner will take home a bag of Fudge products, valued at more than $120, that were all used to create the Jimmy D runway look. These include Fudge Hair Gum, Fudge Salt Spray, Fudge Membrane Gas, Fudge Head Shine and finally the Fudge Detox.

Collette Dinnigan Spring/Summer 2011

I've always been a fan of Collette Dinnigan's work, so much so that I wore one of her 1930 style gowns for my wedding!

Collette's latest collection, for Spring/Summer 2011, sees the designer return to one of her strengths- pretty feminine pieces. There were plenty of white lace lingerie inspired dresses, high-waisted button up shorts, slim trousers, black sheer blouses and colorful resort inspired prints.

Stella McCartney for Target

I'm thinking of planning a trip to Sydney after seeing some of the Stella McCartney for Target range, which launches on October 29. Every piece is under $AU299 and will include dresses, tuxedo jackets, jeans and blouses, all in Stella's trademark elegant style.

My picks are the red velvet/silk pleated dress, perfectly tailored black pants, white and black lace tops paired with a tuxedo jacket and finally the white/gold clutch.

Agnus Curran

A few weeks ago Seth and I left the smoky city behind and visited Agnus Curran in Ponsonby. I was referred to the cafe by a friend and it's fast over taking Mezze Bar as one of my favourite places to enjoy a pot of tea and the latest copy of Vogue.

The cafe is tiny, making it all the more special and intimate. Our favourite place to sit is at the big communal table, surrounded by magazines and papers, and steadily work our way through their amazing brioche or ginger syrup cake.  While you wait for a pot of tea (complete with milk in an old fashioned glass bottle) to arrive there is plenty of gorgeous pottery for sale.
