Elisa Sednaoui...

Happy Friday everyone!

Elisa Sednaoui seems to be every where I look lately. Open any fashion magazine and you'll see the gorgeous Italian model and actress looking back at you from the about town section, sitting front row at the latest fashion show or strutting the catwalk for designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg.

What do you think, a new It girl?

I Wish I Had A Closet Like Karla's...

One of the first blogs that I ever looked at was Karla's Closet. I remember being amazed at Karla Derass' ever changing wardrobe, creative style and fabulous shoe collection. It's also one of the blogs that I never tire of recommending to show friends and recommend.

Below are a few of my favourite recent looks by Karla... Which one of them is your favourite?

Indigo Picks Of The Week...

I'm just home from having back to back catch ups with a few friends. It's been a perfect start to the sunny weekend! I started the day with a lazy brunch with my uni girls Amelia, Michelle and Catherine at Invito in Chancery Square. The field mushrooms, bacon and bruschetta breakfast were creamy and so delicious I almost asked for a second. On the side their Chai Latte was hot and spicy, just how I like it.

Before my next coffee catch up I had a rummage through the Recycle Boutique, before meeting Mikki at Mezze Bar for Lemon Tart. For a review on the lemon tart check out the article I wrote on it here.

I hate to say it since I'm not really a fan but I love this look that Selena Gomez styled this week in NY. A black pencil skirt worn with a textured silver/ grey buster top, tousled up-do and red lippy. I was surprised by the elegance of this look- I've got to say her stylist did a good job.

I finally managed to watch Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland last night. I like the darker side that Burton brought to the well known story and thought the costuming and make-up was gorgeous- especially Johnny Depp's mad hatter look.

As I write I'm admiring my OPI orange nail polish (Chop-Sticking To My Story). Its a lovely terra-cotta orange shade and a nice change from the reds, pinks and darker tones I've recently been wearing. I can see it as being a great shade to wear during summer with a tan, cut offs and bikini at the beach. The nail polish is part of OPI's Hong Kong Spring/ Summer 2010 collection.

What's your favourite shade of nail polish?

On Thursday night I met with a few of the other nzgirl panelists for a pot-luck dinner to celebrate the sites relaunch. I'm all for the return of the pot-luck dinner. It so nice to be able to talk with different people, something that a long table at a restaurant can often stifle, and it also was great to save a little cash.

Indigo Picks Of The Week...

Sitting next to the window of my apartment looking out at the cloudless blue sky and bustling metropolitan area its hard to believe that in New Zealand we're currently enjoying the coldest month of the year. Its a nice way to enjoy Sunday afternoons- one of my favourite times of the week. A good cup of coffee, windows wide open (if weather permits) and my laptop.

This week I loved the Lady Gaga Glee episode. The costumes were fabulous, I loved the remake of Poker Face by Rachel and her mum and Kurt's redecorated Moroccan themed bedroom.

All week I've been singing Florence And The Machines Dog Days Are Over and been asking myself why I didn't get tickets to her Auckland concert.

What song has been stuck in your head this week?

Even though today is sunny and feels deceptively warm I'm craving for summer to arrive after seeing photos of Burberry's tea party beauty launch in LA. The guests all wore Burberry and enjoyed the afternoon tea in the English style garden. I like how Kate has kept her look simple and accessorized her cream lace dress with just a tan belt and cream clutch.

I'm off now to turn up the indoor heat, slip into a flimsy summer dress and make a pot of English Breakfast tea.

Have a happy rest of the weekend!

Prussian Romance at Chanel

The Couture shows would have to be one of my favourite fashion moments of the year. The Dior show which I blogged about previously was simply amazing. A gorgeous mix of exotic flowers, strong colours and frills. And the Chanel couture show proved as equally captivating.

The collection was inspired by Dr Zhivago furs and Prussian style silk brocades and opulent embellishments. Sequins and embroidery were also seen, inspired by Fabergé eggs, and military detailing in double breasted coats and decorative cuffs.

Indigo Picks Of The Week...

Happy weekend everyone!

This week the nzgirl website went live! I was lucky enough to be picked by Tee, the editor, to be one of their writers and contribute articles on my favourite things. Check it it out at www.nzgirl.co.nz. Two of my articles are found here and here. And don't worry, this doesn't mean that Indigo blog will be coming to an end. I have lots more exciting things in mind for Indigo and love sharing ideas and things I have found with my readers here.

This week I've also enjoyed viewing all the couture shows online. The Dior show was stunning and you can see coverage on a previous post of mine here. And the couture shows are not just what's on the catwalk, but also who's sitting front row and what they're wearing...

One of my favourite looks of the week is the white 1950s silhouetted dress that Jessica Alba wore to one of the shows (top of the post). I like how she's paired it with the thin red belt and black mesh heels.

This is definitely something I would wear to work or for a meeting. I like the combination of tucked in white shirt, and loose skirt with the black heels and clutch. So simple but so chic!

Again another whit short look. Maybe I'm a little obsessed with them at the moment. I really like how a long necklace has been paired with the shirt. So often I reach for a short necklace or opt for none when I'm wearing a button up shirt. The looks becomes edge and night time ready with the heels and shorts. But Gwyneth keeps it looking ladylike with her choice of black and white pieces, over colour.

Gorgeous! I love the cut off this dress, which is verging on the conservative, but the short cap sleeves and open toe heels keep it looking fresh and summery.

Happy weekend everyone! xox

Garance Dore for Moschino

As well as being an amazing blogger, style icon and illustrator Garance Dore has now turned her hand to photographing fashion campaigns. Garance has just shot a beautiful campaign for Love Moschino's Autumn/winter 2010 - 2011 collection, her first, and set in Milan.

Exotic Flowers At Christian Dior...

I just saw photos of John Galliano's couture show for Christian Dior and love the exotic flowers scattered throughout the collection. And the flower theme didn't just stop with floral prints, it was also seen in the set design, fluted frill detailing on the skirts and the silhouette proportions- similar to an upside down flower- volume in the skirt and a fitted bodices. The colour palette was bright and eye catching, the models' strutted their looks down the runway looking like gorgeous exotic hothouse flowers.

Glastonbury Fashion...

Oh to have been at Glastonbury! The music, the atmosphere and exciting fashion - I would have loved to have been there this year. One day I promise myself I'll make it and have an absolute ball. But in the meantime I have content myself with seeing it online.

During my online browsing I came across a few of my favourite looks and wanted to share them with you. Let me know what you think of them and if there is one in particular that stands out to you as your favourite...

I love this khaki and black print Louis Vuitton corset worn by Emma Watson, paired with the messy side braid and cut off shorts.

What a gorgeous sheer blouse! It looks great layered over the dark underwear and loafers.

Loving the panama hat and belted denim cut offs. A classic summer festival look but it looks so fresh and exciting when worn by the always stylish Ms Miller.

The pop of colour the lemon scarf brings is perfect for this all black look. I also love the statement red lip.

The open necked white sleeveless shirt and grey flats, paired with a stylishly striped boyfriend= a perfectly cute couple.

I think this is my favourite look of them all. I love the slate grey colour of the play suit and the two toned beige and creme brogues. This is a look I would definitely wear on holiday or to meet the girls for a summer brunch.

Indigo Picks Of The Week...

It seems everyone is going crazy with the release of the new Twilight film Eclipse, and I for one are among them. But I still haven't managed to see the film yet- part of me doesn't fancy sitting in a cinemas with a bunch of screaming girls in the row in front. if you've seen it I'd love to hear what you thought of it.

With all the current Twilight hysteria I thought I would pit together a few of my favourite looks from the female cast.

This week I have also been working on writing for a new website that is relaunching soon. nagirl website has something for every woman, including fashion, entertainment, lifestyle and beauty. Watch this space for more information and I'll post the link when the website goes live.

This week I have also been loving this gorgeous Smashbox pink lip gloss that I was recently given. I'm usually not much of a gloss fan, preferring my trust Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. But the colour of this gloss is lovely and natural and best of all it doesn't have that nasty stickiness that so many often do.

This week I've also notice several people on the street sporting sorbet coloured hair styles or streaks. I think the bubble gum pink shade that Pixie Geldof recently sported in her pixie cut looked amazing. As did the sorbet pink and dove grey streaks in the models hair on the catwalk at Giles Deacon's Ready To Wear Spring/ Summer 2010 show. I always find it fascinating to track how fast a trend can filter down from the catwalk to celebrities before finally arriving on the street.

Have any of my readers been brave enough the experiment with this style?

Last weekend I managed to finally work up enough courage to watch Murder On The Orient Express. I remember watching it with my dad when I was little and being absolutely terrified. What blew me away this time was the gorgeous old fashion wooden interiors of the trains cabins and the beautiful period costumes.

What's your favourite film which you watch just for the clothes?
